Social Justice Through the Lens of Critical Race Theory: Mondays, February 7, 14, 21, 28, 2022 5:30-7:45pm CST on Zoom
In February, join us for an introduction to contributions of critical race theory (CRT) as a way of thinking and teaching about America’s past and present by looking at the role of systemic racism – the underlying structures, practices and strategies, and interests that sustain and advance racism in all sectors of US lives. This workshop introduces the reader to idealist and realist approaches to addressing racism within critical race theory, to key themes and understanding of critical race theory and how those understandings are used to interpret the ways race works between people and within institutions and social systems to insure the perpetuation of racism. In addition, this workshop identifies conceptual tools used to dismantle racist structures aided by historical examples and scenarios.
