Workshop Title: Seeing, Accepting, and Responding to Social-Cultural Conditioning
Dates: April 12 & 19, 5:30-8pm MST/6:30-9pm CST; on zoom
Learning Outcomes:
Understanding the shaping factors of early socialization in view of the “Cycle of Socialization.”
Understanding the forces shaping perceptions and the development of perceptual assumptions including environment (exposure), biological receptors, and social influences as these relate to the making and unmaking of bias (implicit bias).
Understanding psychological healthy responses to social conditioning and the processes for changing the impact of negative social conditioning and its impact on ways of thinking and behavior.
Understanding and use of the “Structural-Cultural Interactionist Model” and the “Cycle of Liberation Model” as tools to explain the process of social conditioning and ways to liberate oneself/others from the negative, harmful learning.
